Features and aims of the course

 

This Degree Course is designed to enable students to work in different financial fields, like banking and insurance, as actuaries, financial analysts and consultants. The course aims at teaching the fundamentals of economics, business management, statistics and law. The course offers three different curricula which students can choose from. One focuses on the analysis of the interactions between the financial-banking system and real markets, companies and institutions. The second focuses on the analysis of corporate financial profiles. The third aims at giving students the competencies to work in the insurance business or in the fields of pensions and social security.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Students will be studying subjects related to economics, business management, statistics and law, such as:

  • Financiat reporting

  • Mathematical Models for Financial Markets
  • Portfolio and decision theory
  • Financial market law, insurance law, public economics law

STRENGTHS OF THE COURSE

The Financial Analysis Lab with its Problem-Based Learning approch provides the opportunity for hands-on training, as well as authentic case development and implementation, with the advice and assistance of real entrepreneurs.

Research Challenge: Finance competition organized by the CFA Institute, which the best universities in the world take part in every year. The team of Università Politecnica delle Marche has taken part in the Research Challenge since the competition’s first year (2016) reaching the podium in three of the four competition events.

University Recognition Program. Università Politecnica delle Marche is the first Italian university to be included in the “CFA Institute University Recognition Program”. This program puts our students in a privileged position to achieve the “Chartered Financial Analyst®” certification, which is the most respected and relevant designation in finance worldwide.

Actuarial science course. This course aims at preparing students for the admission to the national actuarial directory. The actuarial profession is a regulated profession for those who want to work as risk managers in banks, insurances and social security. The course provides scholarships for the most deserving students to attend actuarial exam prep courses.
