Features and aims of the course

 

This Master’s Degree is designed to train professionals with advanced competencies in the fields of healthcare practice, management, education, and research. The programme aims to provide a high-level cultural and scientific education, enabling graduates to effectively plan and manage complex healthcare processes in both hospital and community settings.

Its primary objective is to develop leadership and healthcare service management skills, promoting the integration of generalist and specialist competencies and the application of the best available scientific evidence in clinical practice.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The programme is structured over two years and combines theoretical coursework, laboratory activities, and clinical placements.

  • First year: focuses on the acquisition of epistemological, methodological, organisational, and research foundations. You will study the philosophy and ethics of care, models for analysing health needs, and Evidence-Based Practice (EBP).
  • Second year: is dedicated to the development of advanced competencies in leadership, education, and innovation processes. Courses include healthcare management, nursing team leadership, learning theories for professional education, and methodologies for consultancy and applied research.
  • Clinical Placement (30 ECTS credits): Professional training experiences within hospital and community healthcare management departments, corporate or university training centres, and research institutes.

YOUR FUTURE CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates of this Master’s Degree will be prepared to take on leadership and managerial roles within the healthcare system. They may work as nursing service managers, coordinators of complex healthcare processes, clinical researchers, or pursue an academic career as lecturers and tutors. The degree also provides access to second-level Master’s programmes and PhD programmes.
