LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The first year is dedicated to establishing the conceptual and methodological frameworks across the four core competency areas of the MSc:

  • Research Area: Statistical and epidemiological methods applied to healthcare, clinical, and social research within the context of disability and class-specific professional duties. Research methodology is emphasized to promote evidence-based healthcare practice.
  • Professional Area: The physiological foundations of functional recovery.
  • Management Area: Principles and methods of health economics and healthcare planning, including in-depth study of administrative and labor law.
  • Educational Area: Pedagogical models, adult and experiential learning theories, and clinical tutoring methodologies.

Students will also engage in seminars and an internship at accredited facilities of their choice. This experience is designed to facilitate the development of an improvement project relevant to rehabilitative practice within their specific professional profile.

The second year focuses on the application and contextualization of the theoretical models and methodologies acquired, with specific reference to future professional environments:

  • Research Area: Analysis of qualitative and quantitative research studies, with a focus on deducing practical implications for rehabilitative care.
  • Disciplinary Area: Exploration of significant clinical and organizational advancements within the fields of neuroscience and rehabilitation.
  • Management Area: Advanced strategies for the direction and management of rehabilitation services, human resource management, the design of organizational integration tools, and performance quality assessment.
  • Educational Area: Advanced design and management of primary and continuing education systems, instructional methods, and group facilitation techniques aimed at implementing specialized training events for rehabilitation professions.

The curriculum includes a specialized internship at accredited institutions selected by the student (e.g., Healthcare Professional Directorates, Training Departments, Research Centers, or Quality Assurance Offices).

YOUR FUTURE CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

The Master of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences for Health Professions prepares graduates for high-level roles in clinical, academic, and administrative settings. The core functions of our graduates revolve around management within healthcare facilities (focusing on the organization, supervision, and delivery of services with a commitment to efficacy), university teaching, continuous professional education, and specialized research.

The program is designed to train researchers and medical science specialists, as well as practitioners in rehabilitation health sciences. It provides the pedagogical and clinical foundations for teaching and training in clinical, academic, and research contexts, further enabling graduates to serve as Clinical Education Tutors and Coordinators for degree programs within the same disciplinary class.

The primary career pathways are:

  • leadership roles within healthcare organizations and facilities
  • director of professional education for bachelor degree programs in the healthcare sector
  • adjunct professor/lecturer for healthcare-related bachelor’s degree courses.
