Features and aims of the course

The Master’s Degree Programme in Electronic Engineering provides advanced and specialized education, with the aim of training highly skilled engineers for the most relevant sectors of electronics. Given the fundamental role of electronics across a wide range of diverse applications, professionals with these competencies have become essential and are in high demand.

The programme is therefore designed to meet these needs by training graduates with a broad and solid background, enabling them to identify and develop innovative solutions.

The programme is delivered in a mixed Italian/English format, with the aim of expanding the career opportunities of graduates in international contexts and, at the same time, enhancing the attractiveness of the programme for students from abroad. This approach is implemented through courses taught either in Italian or in English, appropriately distributed across the different curricula in accordance with the programme regulations.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Students can tailor their study path by choosing one of the following three curricula:

  • Electronic Systems and Nanotechnologies;
  • Intelligent and Secure Communication Systems;
  • Electronic Engineering and Digital Technologies

The third curriculum is delivered entirely in English. The division into curricula allows students to specialize their education through in-depth study of specific core subjects. Within each curriculum, students can further explore topics of interest by selecting from groups of elective courses. The programme concludes with an internship, which can be carried out either in a company or at a research institution.

YOUR FUTURE CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Graduate electronics engineers will be able to perform the following activities:

  • supervision, coordination, and management of research and production teams
  • design of electronic and optoelectronic components, equipment and, systems.

They will be able to perform management and organisational activities within:

  • manufacturing companies
  • telecommunication services, as electronics engineers are skilled to design and manage electronic infrastructures for the transmission and processing of information.

STRENGTHS OF THE COURSE

The course gives great importance to software simulation and laboratory activities, with the final aim of further developing the addressed topics.

Professors involved in the course are particularly active in highly innovative sectors and pour the most important results of their research into teaching activities, by developing study activities related to research projects recognised as “of excellence”.
