Features and aims of the course

The Master’s Degree course in Electronic Engineering offers advanced and specific training, with the aim of preparing highly competent and specialized engineers for the most important sectors of electronics. Given the fundamental presence of electronics in numerous and heterogeneous applications, professional figures with these characteristics have now become essential and are highly sought after. The aim of the course is therefore to meet these needs, training technical figures with sufficiently extensive and valid training to identify and design innovative solutions.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Students can customize their study path by choosing one of the following four curricula:

  • Electronics for digital signal processing
  • Electronics for nautical applications
  • Electronic Systems and Nanotechnologies
  • Intelligent and secure communication networks

The division into curricula allows students’ training to be specialized, through specific in-depth analysis of some of the characterizing subjects. In each curriculum, students can explore the topics that interest them most in groups of courses of their choice. The course of study ends with an internship, which can be carried out both in companies and in research structures.

YOUR FUTURE CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Graduate electronics engineers will be able to perform the following activities:

  • supervision, coordination, and management of research and production teams
  • design of electronic and optoelectronic components, equipment and, systems.

They will be able to perform management and organisational activities within:

  • manufacturing companies
  • telecommunication services, as electronics engineers are skilled to design and manage electronic infrastructures for the transmission and processing of information.

STRENGTHS OF THE COURSE

The course gives great importance to software simulation and laboratory activities, with the final aim of further developing the addressed topics.

Professors involved in the course are particularly active in highly innovative sectors and pour the most important results of their research into teaching activities, by developing study activities related to research projects recognised as “of excellence”.
