Features and aims of the course

 

The course trains professional figures capable of holding organizational and managerial roles for which basic skills of technological and economic/managerial nature are required. This transversal education guarantees both mastery of the latest ICT technologies used by companies for operational activities, and the effective use of methods and tools typical of industrial engineering. The main feature of Information Engineering graduates (degree code L-8) is their ability to operate as a link between developers and IT solutions and systems managers in support of Operation Management, both in the industrial and the services sector. The main feature of Industrial Engineering graduates (class L-9) can be identified in their ability to manage production and logistics processes and business processes in general, as well as technology management issues.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The course provides a multidisciplinary education grounded in industrial, information, and management and economics engineering. The course is articulated in two study plans. The first two years share the same educational offer, with the first year being dedicated to grounding and the second year being dedicated to specific management engineering topics. The third years’ study plan diverges into deeper elaborations of the following fields.

  • information technology and automatic controls (study plan L-8);
  • industrial technologies, plants and logistics (study plan L-9).

YOUR FUTURE CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

The Management Engineer is able to carry out a wide range of activities, such as the design and management of production and logistics systems, as well as distribution systems of goods and services, business management and organization, planning and management of technology and innovation. Due to the multidisciplinary training engineers receive, they are able to work in all types of industrial and service companies. Management Engineers can work as freelancers.

STRENGTHS OF THE COURSE

The possibility to choose between two curricula, one oriented towards industrial engineering and one oriented towards computer engineering, the relationship with companies, attested by the copious number of curricular work placements (more than 50%) carried out within companies spanning a wide range of sectors (manufacturing, logistics and services), seminars, company meetings, presentation of case studies on relevant issues that add practical value to the education that shapes Management Engineering graduates are at the basis of the high demand that many companies have shown for said professional figure.
