Features and aims of the course

 

This course enables students to prepare to work in dental health education and take part in community outreach projects of the public health system. Graduates will be able to  evaluate the need for orthodontic treatment and collect technical and statistical information.
The course prepares the students to carry out treatments such as scaling and root planing, and the topical application of different preventive measures; they will learn about and instruct patients on the different dental hygiene methods and the use of adequate diagnostic tools needed to identify dental plaque, and the importance of periodic checking and good nutrition for dental health.

  • Science of dental hygiene
  • Human and psycho-pedagogical sciences

YOUR FUTURE CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Dental hygienists are an integral part of the dental team. They work on the prevention of mouth and teeth pathologies, in cooperation with licensed dentists, and surgeons entitled to dental treatments.

On qualification our graduates are able to work in private or public dental practices, in cooperation with licensed dentists and surgeons entitled to dental treatments.
