Features and aims of the course

 

The course is designed and organized to train students to become future nurses. Lectures and practice-based sessions will take place in the venues of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Ascoli Piceno, Fermo, Macerata and Pesaro. The quality of the teaching is the same in all venues, although schedules may differ. Our course is designed to include both theory and practice. Practical placements are undertaken in a range of placement settings in the region in accordance with the provincial education objectives and under the supervision of full-time dedicated professionals. Placements are preceded by a laboratory activities coordinated by full-time professionals.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The topics studied will include basic classical subjects as well as general and specific biomedical and nursing topics.  English and Computer course will also be provided. The program includes a wide range of elective courses on specific topics such as anthropology, deontology, healthcare management, ethics in clinical practices and history of medicine. The course will be concluded with a final exam that qualifies students to work as nurses.

YOUR FUTURE CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Nurses are responsible for the assistance of patients in many regards. They identify the individuals’ and the populations’ health needs and the related strategies and objectives. They work in team and develop and manage nursing care plans, thereby guaranteeing the correct application of the prescribed diagnostic methods  and therapies.

Their competences include assistance in disease prevention, treatment, palliative care and rehabilitation.
